The Pygmy
Date Palm is one of the most widely used date palms
in the U.S., selected for use where a tropical effect
is desired, both indoors and out. It performs best
in the coastal areas of California, although it
is also found in the low deserts with some measure
of effectiveness. The Pygmy Date Palm is hardy to
18 degrees and will grow slowly to 10 feet in height.
It prefers ample water and partial shade, as well
as feeding and good drainage. It is a low maintenance
palm.
