This
succulent, palm-like shrub makes an attractive,
well-favored accent planting. Its unusual onion-shaped
trunk, interestingly swollen at the base to a diameter
of 2 feet, interacts excitingly with other varieties
of trees and shrubs to produce a stunning visual
effect. The Pony Tail Palm is native to arid regions
of Mexico and is hardy to 18 degrees.
